We went fishing with the Kellys on Monday evening.

Dan nets another fish for Kathleen. The final score was Frank and Kathleen: 7, Dan and Grasshopper: none, zero, zilch, nada, the big skunk-a-roo.

Tuesday evening we dropped in to visit Linda. The view from her dock.

View from the back of the boat on the way home.

Me, Grasshopper and Kita went fishing again last evening. We only caught one pickerel and many Canadian shield rock bass. Like Bob Izzumi says, if your not getting snagged on the bottom, your not fishing in the right place.

Yes Sis, we eat some fish, but release most of them.

No Tim, that was smog from the curb jumping 4X4s and SUVs and power plants down south. The fires are well north and west of us.

Went fishing a couple of evenings ago with Dan and Kathleen. Here, the dogs chill out.

Kathleen gets one.

Dan too.

And I got one too. Grasshopper caught the first fish, before everybody was ready and we forgot to get a pic. I think that the final score was 4 for the boys and 4 for the girls. The bugs were bad that night.

We were under a smog advisory, which made for some odd colours.

Kathleen's chicks are growing fast, they are up to a meal deal size already.

It took two trips to town to get a new patio set for the screened in deck. Don't ask, long, long story. Other than that, it's been pretty quiet on the Little Tomiko.

Grasshopper caught her first Pickerel, Walleye for You-alls, Sunday evening. It was released.

Monday we went down the river to get pics of the suckers that are running, but there was too much glare on the water. We did see a pair of Mergansers.

And an Eagle.

First off, after the last post, I'm a little nervous. If anything happens to me, tell the coppers to investigate someone with a bullet and a backhoe.

Over past couple of days , despite the rain, I managed to paint the skirting and put it back on the cabin. I guess that means new flooring soon.

Monday Jose gave us a bird book, thanks Jose. Now we can identify all the birds that are here now, if they can slow down a bit, or crash into the screen.

Bry, Grasshopper jumped voluntarily.

That's it for now. I'm going to bug proof the deck. That big storm last year blew off the screen under the deck and the mosquitoes are finding their way in.

Been busy the past few days, we haven't even turned the computer on since Thursday. First, some pics from Thursday evening.

A duck takes off in the dark.

It was pretty hot inside the bug jacket on Friday, so Grasshopper takes a long walk off a short dock.

Friday we noticed that the water level was falling fast, so we checked out the beaver dam. There was a hole, so I hopped in and "eagerly" started fixing it. We went back on Saturday and finished the job.

TPD and Cindy came by to watch the dam repair. Kita jumped into their boat for a visit.

Hey Razor! Some guys can wear a wet suit.

And some guys can't!

Last evening we went fishing and I caught 2 fish on the first drift, and not another bite after that. This one was 24.25 inches. Fried pickeral for supper tonight!

Home is waiting for you, Bruce.

Monday afternoon we went to ED and Jose's to help set up a new TV. It took us into supper hour, and since Jose had "nothing", we "only" had chicken and roast beef to eat.

On Tuesday we went to town at 8:30 and were back by 5:45. On the way in we saw these moose on the highway. They are shedding their winter coats.

Tuesday evening we were back to Jose and Ed's for a fish supper with June and Catherine. Grasshopper admires a properly set table.

This morning, Grasshopper put out three hummimgbird feeders. A female showed up less than 5 minutes later, followed, soon after by this male.

Another Looney morning, this morning.

This morning there was a good frost so I went out to get a truck load of fire wood before the black flies came out. Bad idea, the little bitters still bad.

Hi Bruce, like I said, frost this morning and a pleasant 20 right now. Have fun (?) in Africa!

In this pic, Grasshopper is setting off to reorganize the Notman Forest wearing the latest in the spring fashions on the Little Tomiko.

Here, Grasshopper does the laundry, air temp 10C, water temp COLD!!

It's been pretty quiet here the past few days. Saturday I helped Razor put a steel roof on his fuel shed. It's been cool enough the past couple of nights that we had to have a small fire in the evenings. Yesterday morning, while it was still too cool for black flies, we took Kita for a walk and picked up some plants to be planted behind the A frame. In the afternoon we dropped by Linda's; Ron, Lindsey and the Pickeral Queen were there too. Today we are just getting ready for a big trip to town. Look out North Bay, there are now two people who don't like to shop. If you don't like tracks up your back, keep moving!

Happy Birthday, Michelle!

Thursday evening we went down the river to check the beaver dam. The water is still flowing over the top.

The pilot enjoys the view on the river.

A golden sun set that evening.

On Friday we visited Kathleen and her chicken nuggets.

On Friday I finished leveling the floor. On the next trip to town I'll get some paint and paint up the skirting while it is off. Then, I guess the next project will be new flooring.

I think that Grasshopper has finished phase three of reorganizing the cabin and has now started organizing the Notman Forest. She is cleaning up the area behind the A frame and turning it into a park. The poor chipmunks and squirrels will never find their stashes again.

They are Baack!
We went for a walk this morning and had to run home to get away from the black flies. It's not a time to breath with your mouth open. The good news is that they don't really go for Grasshopper. The bad news is that they don't go for Grasshopper. It seems that cats aren't the only things that go for O neg blood. Darn universal donor blood.

No scenic pics for you. I spent the last two days under the cabin leveling the floor. Shut up Razor. I probably need to spend another day under there, but the three abs that I have found are too sore today to be belly flopping around.

Not too much room , can't even call it a crawl space.

Ok, one pic of the sky from last evening, just for you.
