We've been busy lately. Haven't even turned the computer on in days.

Sadly I have to report the passing of Reg

O'Donnell, from Tomiko Station, on Jan 26. You can find his obituary at this link.

Last Thursday Big Luke, Bone Head, Carrie, Grace, Scarlet, Diesel and Sally came for a visit. I had their place all warmed up when they arrived at 10 that night.

The Torontonians found it a little chilly.

Friday they dropped by while on a ride.

There was a partial sun dog while they were here.

That evening, waiting for supper the kids were laptoppin' and DSing(?)

Bone Head grilling.

"Sheldon" digging in.

 Sunset

On Monday we got a bunch of new snow and I went on a ride with Razor. We did over 150 klicks. I took Grasshopper's camera for portability, so, some pics are not up to the usual Nikon's standard.

We found what was left of a moose.

The falls at Poplar lake which isn't really a falls but a frozen seepage.

We stopped by Sandra and ...

Al's place on Martin lake for Al to join us.

I forget where this was, but, I was there.

One of the more original camps, built of old rail cars.

Right on the tracks.

Snow in every crevice.

An owl, back at Al and Sandra's.

Yesterday, after snow clean up, we went to visit the Fowlers.

We went via the road to Riches.

On the way home, Grasshopper had a confrontation with the native landscape and came out on the short end. OUCH! Only the Transformer was injured. It'll be OK after a leg transplant.

But after getting over 1 inch of rain, it'll be a few days before we can go to town to get new parts.

Woke up to a heat wave yesterday morning.

Can you feel it?

How cold was it the last couple of days? When the little flinches pooped, steam came out of there butts! You'll have to believe me 'cause I couldn't get any pics. The old goat started with a little TLC but the heater fan was frozen. With a little help from Mr. Herman Nelson, and a timely rap, the fan was thawed out. Cath and Kath took her to town today. It's much warmer today, -9, now that's a heat wave.

Now it's time for a public service announcement. Yesterday, one our friends was contacted by "Windows Techs" informing her that her computer was operating too slow and was infected by viruses. She was given a 1-800- number and told to connect to a site so that the techs could fix her computer. They remotely went through her computer and even commented on some pictures. In the end they tried to get her to buy better protection for her computer.  This is a scam! She had to cancel her credit and debit cards, change passwords, etc. She had to inform the credit bureau, and for a fee, have a warning posted that her identity may have been stolen. As we all know, windows is not smart enough to find 1 bad computer out of all the millions out there, ex. vista. So, if some calls you hang up, if you are directed to a site and they ask to remotely control your computer, close the tab. For more info check out the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at

Happy Birthday Super Nova.

You are 7 years old today.

 BOOM!

Woke up to -39 this morning.

Oh, geesh, I forgot the .6! That makes all the difference!

How long does it take to make a hard frozen egg?

About 7 minutes. It takes about 8 minutes to freeze the numbers on a LCD clock.

So, if you are coming north this weekend, may I recommend bringing an extra pair of soxx. Maybe electric soxx. AND electric Saxx. Har,har, har.

Where have ya been?

Sun going down Tuesday.

Thursday we woke up to "seasonal" temps...

and a fresh coating of snow.

I found this little guy under the deck. He stayed there for about half an hour and then just took off.

A dark shadow went over the lake with a loud roar. It was a Hercules like this one. A local high school had an exercise with the military Search and rescue in the area. I copied this pic, with the SAR tech falling out the back.

On Friday I went solar window cleaning. The snow was stuck like glue.

Don't worry Big Luke, I did yours too.

Do you remember this guy? Me neither. You used to see him whizzing up the lake this way. Whizzing up the lake that way. It didn't matter if we had 10 feet of snow or 5 feet of slush, he was always out here, one adventure after misadventure. What ever happened to him?  Oh! he got MARRIED!

Saturday evening we all went to the Estate for supper. Pics from Jose's FB.

Me arriving across the lake.

Grasshopper.

Grasshopper parking her Transformer.

Group shot. Sir Edwin, Bryan, Jose, Shirley, me, Grasshopper, front row, TT and Razor. Mikey took the pic. As you can see, or rather can't see, June was a no show.

Snow on the way home.

Sunday morning, more snow!

Where's Waldo?

The fire pit.

Thanks.

A cool one this morning.
