HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUPER NOVA! <:-P

You are 10 years old now! Double digits! How tall are you now? (That's an inside poopologist joke) =))

Your birthday song.

A great big Hairy Woodpecker @ the peanut butter.

Big boy grouse.

He flew up into the feeder and hung out for a while.

Here's the story on the whiskey jacks. Last winter we had a shy one, and one that would land on the hand and the 1 legged one. Early this winter 2 came back, the shy one and the other one, but no 1 legged one. Then no jacks for weeks. Now we have just the shy one coming to the feeders.

We also have a fox coming around.

Sun set Wednesday.

Sun set Friday.

And we have a mink visiting, too.

It seems that not all of the Browns appreciate the finer points of winter. :-O

We got some fresh snow and some much needed sun earlier this week.

We put out some peanut butter for the birdies.

Wednesday we started on the snow ramps. We also walked across to Bedrock, testing the ice as we went. We decided that the ice was good enough, 6-8 inches, to put in the tree line tomorrow.

Thursday, tree line done. The ice had actually grown by at least 2inches over night, close to 12 inches in some spots.

We also went on the Road to Riches. Speaking of Richie, Hey Rich! There are trees down all over your road. The locals are getting upset. When are you coming to clean up your road?

The church.

Mrs Penny came by. She'll come a couple of days in a row, and then you might not see her for quite a while.

Then a big boy came with her.

I've been trying hard to make ice, but, it's been really difficult with all of the negativity from the winos, I mean, whiners who have been praying for bikini weather. @-) We woke up to +3.9C this morning and heavy rain at times.

 Checking out the ice.

Frozen fox tracks.

Air holes frozen over.

There should be a snow ramp over there.

The ice is surprisingly good. Not good clean blue ice, but not slushy either.

6 inches?

On my walkabout this morning I found a pair of fresh wolf tracks. This is the pup.

Momma.

Ugly.

Around 1 o'clock the temperature started dropping and this is what's happening right now. The power of positive thinking. >:D<
