It's been really hot here the past couple of days, over 30c. Lots of jumping in the lake to cool off. Last evening we toured the lake with the Kellys.

Grasshopper got the deck all painted, just in time for the Bishop Superkids visit this weekend.

Hey Super kids, can you find the Garter Snake?

Monday we went to town and spent some time with 2 of the Superkids. They are faster than an old guy can click a camera.

Calliope

Nova

Monday we also picked up the rest of the flooring and installed it on Tuesday and Wednesday. The mouldings aren't done yet, but as the Guru Reg says, I'll get to it somemorrow. Yes Richie, if you ever make it up here, you can take your boots off on the dock.

Wednesday was kind of a stormy day, but it cleared up in the evening.

Hey Bruce, I met your Mom at Price Chopper's, nice lady, what happened to you?

Sis, funny that you have time to comment on blogs but no time to update your own!

Jason, same to you, but the lobster races were fun, especially when they wipe out going around corners.

Grasshopper has the deck all primed and ready for paint.

I baked some bread on the BBQ for Linda and Lynn Marie the other day. Too hot to bake inside.

A heron feeding in the narrows. They don't like anybody watching while they eat.

37 degrees C right now!

It's been hot like this for the past 3 days. Very unpleasant, to say the least. Let's fast forward to the fall, who's with me?

We went fishing with the Kellys a few evenings ago. The score was Frank 1, then "they" decided to stop keeping score(?).

Heading home.

The next evening we checked out the beaver dam to see if all the rain that we had, had damaged it. It's OK, with water running across the whole dam.

An old stump on the river.

Two evenings ago we went for a boat ride to cool off at sunset.
Kita and Grasshopper watch the sun go down.

It's kinda hard to make out, but there are hundreds of dragon flies helping to keep the bad bug population down.

I remember helping a young feller build this dock last summer. He used to come here every chance that he got. But that was when he worked for Mr. Ford. Now he works for an old guy with shaky nerves who won't let him have any time off.

Sis and Michelle: I like white 'cause it reminds me of snow. I sure could use a foot or two about now.

Richie: You shouldn't talk. It seems to me that you have clouds and duckies in your privie and I don't....yet.

I'm still here. Been a little busy lately. If you didn't like the weather the past week, all you had to do was wait five minutes. Last week we had record high temps, then record rain fall; over two inches the last few days, and high winds. And blessed snow on Tuesday.

Tuesday we went to town. By the time we got back, the snow had accumulated on the trees in the driveway and bent them over so that you couldn't see where you were going.

It cleared last evening.

This morning it was dead calm.

We picked up some flooring on Tuesday and started laying it on Thursday. They didn't have enough in stock, so we'll have to make another trip to town before we can finish the job.

Variable weather the past few days with high humidity, sun, rain, and thunder boomers every day. Today it is raining and a pleasant 19c.

There have been flocks of geese going north every day this past week.

On Saturday, Grasshopper went yard saleing in town with Kathleen, Kathleen's mom, and Stephanie. Now I have more stuff(?). That evening we had a lake trout supper at the Kelly's. The bugs have been so bad the past few days that even Kita spends most of the day inside. Thankfully the dragon flies are out already, everything seems early this year. Even the fire flies are out already.

Happy Birthday Superkid, Calliope! You are the big 5 dot 0 !

We've had 30 degree temps and high humidity the past few days causing several thunder storms. This is the perfect conditions to hatch the deadly mosquito.

The trilliums are in bloom.

And the lady slippers too.

P.S. Thanks to whoever dropped off the box of books on the dock. There are some really good books.
