Happy birthday Bryan!

Bryan and Maggie

Guess who else celebrates today?

We've been busy getting ready for spring. Removing boughs, raking and stuff like that. We are also replacing the bug screens on the deck. I can't remember how long the old ones were there, but Dr. Joseph helped me make them way before he was a Dr.

Last Saturday. The ice remembers every thing, even side by side snow shoes.

It looks like a bunch of crazy nut-bars were on the ice, which one were you?

 Oops, out of sequence, Friday.

A  conspiracy of ravens.

The ice ramp.

The ice road. If I really, really needed something from town, I could have sent Grasshopper across the ice.

I guess nothing happened on Sunday, so, off to Monday.

Half a Vee of geese.

The Don Fraser Bypass.

If you squint, you might see a pair of common mergansers.

Today. The ice road is officially closed.

Our driveway. There is still a couple of feet of snow in places that drifted in and was packed down by sleds.

You will just have to trust me that there are two otters in the middle of this pick.

By late afternoon there was lots of open water.

Today we also saw a loon and a heron.

My daughter Michelle and her family are raffling a Harry Potter quilt, home made by Michelle, with all proceeds going to JDRF. My grandson, Kaeden, who is almost 12, has been diabetic since he was 7. Here is a website, if you would like to buy tickets.

For those of you that spring will never come, Jose, check out this site, to see the migration of the hummingbirds.

Today's funny for Rachel, who is expecting, any minute now.

Remember yesterday?

Well, check this out.

For Jose.

Happy Birthday Charlie Brown

On Monday we got the Skidoobeedoo ready to be put away,

and started pulling boughs off of the water line.

I tried to chop a hole in the ice this morning. It's still at least 12 inches thick.

Say good morning to Grasshopper. No snow on the hill. I stood on the ice all day yesterday and for an hour or so this morning doing dock maintenance.

This morning.

4 o'clock.

Yup, not too much snow on the sunny side of life.

Lots of snow on the cold, dark side of the lake.

Ice starting to pull away from shore.

OK,OK, stop yer whining, here's some funnies fer ya.

Have you noticed that CTV promises you "ALL NEW THURSDAYS, or "ALL NEW FRIDAYS" etc? Hmm mm, seems like same old to me.

 Just 'cause.

Happy anniversary Grasshopper!

Pics from yesterday.

We went for a walk about after the worst of the rain had stopped.

Blimey! Bloody 'ell mate, she sure is foggy. The pea soup keeps rolling in. Makes you homesick for the old country.

Still lots of snow on the Don Fraser Bypass.

Not so much on the on ramp.

Water every where.

The ice road is still passable.

Grackles and Red wings.

Night time visitors to the feeders.

A familiar site this morning. Don't poke out the other eye Jose, it won't last past Monday????

Not too much?

Today has been a record day for birds. Here's the list, Grouse, Fox sparrows, Yellow belly sap sucker, Tree sparrows, Robins, Red wing black birds, Grackles, Starlings, White throated sparrows, Dark eyed juncos, Song sparrows, Redpolls, Chickadees and a Common flicker.

This little fellow was different from all his buddies. A Hoary?

Today I checked out the driveway for fallen trees, just one old, dead fir down

The Notman road.

Sand lake, looking where the herons nested.

Another Tomiko pot hole, on the Brule lake road. It's hard to tell, but it's about a 2 foot drop. Not quite wide enough for the skies.

Output side of the first culvert on our drive.

Another pot hole just past the gravel pit.

Another flooded spot.

Out put side of second culvert.

Water is running over the Notman road at the river. I have a video that I can email to you if you want it.

No funny for you today
