We had an invasion of warblers this morning come thru our yard eating some kind of caterpillars that had just hatched. Pics are poor 'cause of bad lighting, small targets, and you guys never got me that big lens for Xmas last year. We saw, Black-and-White Warblers, Magnolia Warblers, Pine Warblers, and Blackburnian Warblers. Here's a link that might help you identify birds, thanks to Dr. Brown. What's my Birdie?

Pine Warbler.

The Whiskey Jacks came by, too.

The dragon flies were feeding on a hatch on the lake.

Just to show how hard it is to shoot these little guys, there is a Black and White Warbler, dead center in this pic.

Strange colours in the sky after a storm blew thru Sunday evening.

The eagle is still harassing the loons, but, everybody is still OK.

We haven't had any mergansers all summer.

Truism.

Happy Lucky 13th Michelle and Kurt

Just another day at the center.

More loons. We think that there are two families with babies that are about a week apart. This one is still brown and fuzzy and the other is getting some colours.

This baby just dove with an ungraceful splash.

Where's Junior?

The one on the left is a baby with a lot of white. Here it is laying on it's side doing leg stretches.

Doing the stand up and flap your wings, thing.

Grasshopper sez that I never take her any where, so, I took her to Jocko. Jamie sez "HA! Razor, I'm here and you're not. HA!"

The water is still high here, no sand bar.

Grasshopper on the Jocko River, er, Road.

We stopped by Brule Lake on the way home.

They have a corral in back???

There were 5 grouse on the road.

High alert.

Pretty pond.

Mr. AKA Smith and I saw Geese on this old beaver house in the spring.

Grasshopper, on the floor.

Yellow birch fire at the AKA's.

Mr. "Smith", More Ron, Mrs. "Smith", Me , and Nancy.

Hey Hippy Chick in Woodstock, yer apple tree has an apple this year after being barren since the rabbits killed the other tree.

Political jokes that aren't that funny.

One last truism.

Happy 10th Birthday Super Ellia!
You're WAY out there!

I think that we have all agreed that these guys are Merlin Falcons.

No, no, no, not Millennium Falcons!

M-E-R-L-I-N Falcon, like this one.  click for wiki link

Last Friday we had a dinner at the Estate. I think that my memory card got jostled 'cause only one pic came out. The food, of course. Chicken and ribs and all the good stuff that goes with it.  Since there are no pics, I'll have to trust the old memory recall to remember who was there. Josie and Edwin's son James was there, Paul and his daughter Christine from over Ottawa way, me and Grasshopper, TT, Bryan, and, Janaya, of course.

Baby loon trying to dive.

Cute.

While Grasshopper was in town at a baby shower, I tried to fix Mrs. Smith's hair dryer. I couldn't get the brush to turn, but, like old Rick used to say, I got it back to broke.

Sunday morning there were 5 loons doing the frantic alarm call out front of our place. When they do that call, you will always see an eagle, but we couldn't find one.

Then, an immature eagle flew from the Don Fraser bypass behind us. Too low and fast for good pics.

Monday we had Lee over for supper. Yeah, Corkie is floatin'.

 Riding off into the sunset.

Another Timbit pic from the NWT. Sun thru the forest fire smoke.

Another truism.
