We have been quietly busy the past couple of weeks, but, surprisingly, we took very few photos??? Getting old, I guess.

First, an update on the old devushka, she has been sent off to the dacha for some R&R. They need a magician to saw her in half, replace her clutch, and sew her back together again.

And, you remember the Ogre?

Well, Mr. Slate wanted to borrow it. I told him about the carb and he said no problem, he would see to it. He is a semiprofessional small engine magician, he fixed my favorite husqui a few years ago.

Welllll, as I was towing it behind the Arctic Cat around the lake, about 11 klicks, a wheel broke off and the splitter did a half gainer off of the hitch and landed in the middle of the A5 road, near Russell ave. We managed to load it into a dump trailer and send it off for transplants.

Random pics.

Sullivan's lit up by the morning light.

A blue kind of day.

Mr. and Mrs. purple (red) finches.

Mr. evening grosbeaks.

Not Mrs. Henny Penny.

Yup, if you bend over, I'll take a pic and put it on the internet.

Mr. American gold finch.

Purple trillium.

Mr. rose breasted grosbeak is very shy.

Very foggy this morning.

We have our tomatoes and peppers started.

Pollen in the lake.

Sir Edwin is still in the hospital, 8 weeks now, I think. He has had some surgeries on his foot, but it's going to be a long haul. Last fall the beavers plugged up culverts under the railroad and flooded the causeway that Josie has to cross to go to town. They got it partially opened up then, but this spring all three culverts were plugged and the  water was around 18-20 inches high on the causeway. At the worst of it, Josie would get a ride to the flood, walk across wearing waders, and get picked up on the other side.

The railroad opened the culverts last Wednesday. I just talked to Josie and the water has dropped to about 12 inches and she is driving thru.

What ever happened to the May2-4 weekend. Did the calender go metric? Most camps on the lake are occupied, except for Camp full of #it. Maybe they are using an old calender?

I see you Stephen.

Walleye season opens here today.

Get it?

But, ya gotta go to town sometime.

Exercise responsibly.
