This is a public service announcement for winter users of the Notman road.

As you may have noticed, the Notman road is being plowed. "Who plows it?", you might ask. Well, the answer is that Kathleen Kelly plows it on her own time and her own dime. So, you might want to throw a few shekels her way to help offset fuel and maintenance costs. Kathleen has made some bump outs. These are not parking spots, they are there to push extra snow into. If you bring in your own rig to plow your own parking spot, drop your blade on the way in and on the way out. Also, if you are coming in with your truck and trailer, you might want to call her at 705-892-5844 to make sure that she is not plowing. If she is going out with a 10 foot blade full of snow, she can't pull off the road for you.

-----------------------------------------------------------

We tried hard to make ice on the 20th.

Then on the 21st we had high winds and high temps to ruin all of those efforts.

I packed down some trails before the melt and refreeze turned all into lumps and bumps.

This is the new trail from the ice road. If you can't tell where to go, maybe you shouldn't be riding.

The 22nd. More ice.

Squirrel diggin's.

There he is chattering at me.

That afternoon we went around to Bedrock to check out the roads. We have a pretty well packed trail from the Brûlé Lake road to the A5 road.

We had a couple hours of sun at the end of the day.

This morning. Rivers of water in the ice.

2 minutes ago. Snow flurries showing the ice. +5c tomorrow will probably ruin this too.
