Happy Birthday Robert

Last Thursday, the 16th, Environment Canada warned of a heavy snow fall on Saturday. This was confirmed by Frankie Mac Donald here.
So, as Frankie sez BE PREPARED!!!, we decided to take the boat and dock out on the 17th.

This is what we woke up to Friday morning. A light skim of ice in our bay.

We didn't take any pics of the actual boat/dock removal this year. Kat came over and gave us a hand. Everything went smoothly except for the time the quad slid down the hill and mated with the boat trailer.

Saturday morning. See? We didn't wait until the last minute.

Looks like somebody drove their snow machine on the bypass.

The on ramp isn't open for traffic, yet.

The quads are sleeping. The skid-doo-bee-doo is ready if we need it.

No ice road yet.

Our sleds are in the garage.

 The morning of the 20th.

I looked up from doing this post just in time to see a deer swimming across our bay.

Here is a very shaky video of the deer. I was out in my sock feet, and I had trouble seeing in the view finder thru the snow flurry. The things I do for you. The deer struggled to get out of the lake thru ice and slippery rocks, but she did make it. Click.
