Sorry for the lack of updates lately. The fall is the busiest time for us. Filling wood sheds, making kindling, helping people winterize and take out docks and boats. And, we haven't had any sun for a while and I don't want to waste my solar on you. But, since little brother finally did an up date, I thought I should. A note to people who might be a little squeamish about blood, guts and gore, don't look at the last pic. Sis, no, I don't feel better. Even after 28 weeks, all I think about is having a smoke. But, unlike a certain weak minded little brother, I haven't given in YET.

We had a snow day, last Thursday I think.

The sun only pops out for a few minutes at a time the past couple of weeks. I think that these pics were taken Saturday evening. If you look close you can see the last, lonely loon on the lake.

Another foggy morning.

This was one of the reddest sun rises that I have ever seen. The pics really don't do it justice. Of course, a half hour later it was cloudy.

Now you see a dock.

Now you don't. OK, you can still see it but it's on shore. That's Big Bryan and Bess on the ramp and Lord Edwin up on the poop deck.

Here's your last chance to look away.

Tuesday we went to the Kelley's for a deer tenderloin supper. The best ever! When we got home, Grasshopper misjudged the distance from the boat to the dock and her shin smashed on to the aluminum edge of the dock. No Jackie, she wasn't "tired". So, off we go to emerg. and sit there for 6 hours. We didn't get home till 3:15 am. There are 11 staples and a bunch of stitches below. Grasshopper was a real trooper through the whole deal and didn't cry like a wuss.

Last chance!

It must be autumn, the Leafs are falling! Sorry Rachel, bad, old joke.

I guess the question isn't "Will the Leafs win the cup this year?" but "Will they win a game?" Harold Ballard must be laughing his @#$ off, down there.

Random pics in no particular order with out too much dialog 'cause I'm just too busy to talk to you.

Whiskey Jack waiting for breakfast.

George checks out the first bush chicken of the year.

Thanksgiving dinner at Frasertown.

I was on my way out to feed the Jacks when this martin was waiting for his breakfast too. The pic was shot through the screen on the deck. It would be interesting if George meets this guy.

One of the last things that Linda said to me before she headed off to Falala Land was to be safe. So I installed a life boat on the Little Tomiko ice breaker.

Actually, I'm going to the Fowler's this afternoon to help take their dock out and it's easier to float one end on the canoe.

AND today is happy anniversary to me and Grasshopper. 6 months with out a cigarette! We can't call our selves non smokers yet as we are still craving a smoke, especially me. That's it for now, I'm off to jump in the lake.

Happy Birthday (+ 1 day, blame it on some timers)

Coleman

May be your dad will do an October post.

We had a sun rise yesterday! But by the afternoon our solar panels had sucked out all the photons and we sent the grey skies off to the Least coast.

Heading through the narrows Tuesday morning, I think.

The Whiskey Jacks come for breakfast most mornings. Here, Jack#1 is nervous of the camera shutter, but kibble wins the day.

Sorry about that Jackie, but we crossed the border at Sarnia. And you probably didn't have an extra couch for Grasshopper to crash and burn on.

I know that it has been awhile since the last post, but I've been out of town and too busy to talk to you. First off we went to Ypsilanti Michigan to help Joseph get started on siding their house. More siding pics on my son's family blog link on the right.

This side all done.

The only pictures I got of Calliope and Nova was when we were leaving. It's hard to use the camera while hanging off of a ladder.

On the way home we stopped in Kitchener to visit the Bishop Super kids. Here, Kaeden and Ellia are working on art projects while Grasshopper main-lines high speed Internet like a data junkie.

Athena enjoying s'gettie

After we got home, Jose had an early thanksgiving dinner. We met some new friends, but as my social secretary is visiting the land that time forgot, I can't remember their names. I think it's an old age thing. But, June WAS there!

TT with Zero, perhaps a new addition to the Fraser house?

Evil looking skies a couple of afternoons ago. We have had one, unexpected afternoon of sun since we came home.

The fall colours are really popping.

I think it was last Wednesday afternoon that this deer swam across our bay.

There have been more break-ins on Little Tomiko and surrounding lakes. We should be writing down license plates of unfamiliar vehicles. This will be hard this time of year while hunting seasons are open.

The beavers are starting to plug up the big culvert where the river crosses the Notman road. I think some one will have to jump in and clear it out, any volunteers?

The first day of fall came four days early bringing our first frost. YAHOO!

Happy Triple X

Birthday Rachel!

We had some showers over night, but today turned into another sunny day. The wind is blowing out of the north bringing a slight fall chill in the air. Grasshopper saw a flock of geese flying north this afternoon. I know people like that who just won't let summer go.

The weather lately has been boring.

Day,

after day,

after day, just the same old thing. Sunny, calm, mid 20 temps, just boring.

Then we had showers last night and it is still overcast, but it will clear up later on.

And that's all for today 'cause it's been so boring.

Happy 8th Birthday

Kman!

We have had the best week of the summer so far. Day time temps in the mid 20's and sunny! But, there are some signs of fall, some colours starting in the trees and tons of geese flying south.

Boy, am I glad that I picked this week for vacation! Day time temperatures from 22c to 24c. Night time 12c to 14c. No rain and no bugs, no boss. Can life get any better?

Two beavers from the night shift heading home.

The first three geese heading south.

You will have to keep an eye on Grasshopper's site. She has a pic of her first encounter with a bear. TTFN gotta go put the feet up, vacation, you know.
