Update on the ONR derailment from cub reporter Jose's facebook page. You might want to become friends with her to get the down low from the round end of the lake. She also takes very good pics of slow moving targets.

    • Josephine Fowler Gord sent me some pictures of the ONR working on the rock coming in from the north via train to White Rock to fill in the wash-out further down the track and also the ONR trying to keep the road ship-shape for the incoming trucks hauling from the quarry on the Sand Dam road. No pictures of the derailment yet but will keep trying.

    • Josephine Fowler ONR have stopped using our road for hauling so once they have fixed it up we should be mobile again. They are now bringing in the rock from the Sherman Mines in Temagami. The locomotives are still down a 40ft embankment - a tough job to get them out.

According to reports, the reopening of the ONR track has been delayed. The size of the project is the main stumbling block. It is not expected to open until early next week because of the work involved in recovering the three locomotives. Hope to be able to get some pictures somehow.
