April showers mean that you get another update.

April 11.

 Grackles by the dozens.

Skim of ice near shore in the am.

We have had a ton of wind lately so, in the morning while the snow was still stiff, we took our quads out to check out our driveway. Just one tree down. The going was tough in a few places when ice bridges broke under us, but, we only had to use the winch once.

April 12.

We walked across the lake to Bedrock to go to town to get a few more supplies for slushy season. You know, when the lake is too soft for a sled and too hard for a boat.

Going up the big hill.

Going into Narnia.

Male spruce grouse dancing for a lady friend.

He flew into a tree when we got too close.

She stayed right in front of us doing the "you can't see me" routine. Rain drop right where her head is.

The river crossing the road. A little more than in the recent past.

That swirl is the very top of the culvert.

On the way home.

Tracy's Lane.

Some dumb ass drove 8 kilometres (that's 16 round trip) past the land fill to dump $5 worth of trash on the A5 road, near the top of the big hill.

April 13.

 Gold finch and juncos.

Refroze over night. Remember the water level for future reference. Just above the smaller rock.

First pic of a robin.

Fox track.

Quad ruts from the other day.

The snow ramp.

The robin on it's favourite branch.

 April 14.

Early morning sparkles. You would probably have to be here to get the real effect.

April 15.

 Purple finches.

Evening grosbeaks.

Check the water level. That's about high-normal summer level.

Part of the Don Fraser bypass.

I felt adventurous.

April 16.

 Check the level today.

Lookin' out from the top of the ramp to the bypass.

Bare spot on our road.

There is still a good foot of snow in the bus.

Green stuff poking up.

Rhubarb.

Sled trail up to the house.

You can see every sled track from the whole winter.

Andrew, I don't have a recent report of the Notman road past where it is plowed. 5 days ago it was too soft for quads. I don't know how far you would get in a truck.

Josh, this is where the old mill is. It is now private property.
