The ice had gone out only about 10 feet in the morning.
A bit farther by the afternoon.
May 1st.
The ice came back in a little over night, but still open enough for our first loon.
L8R ice road.
Purple finch.
First bud.
May 2nd.
Him and her.
In the afternoon the ice road started breaking up.
This Herc circled the Center for a while.
In the past we have started to put the dock in at this point, only to have the wind blow all of the ice right back at us.
May 3rd. Still ice on the dark side.
There is even a few tree stubs left on the tree line. Grasshopper went to town today, so the dock and boat will wait until tomorrow.
May 4th.
It's hard to see, but some critter ate the grass off at the surface and made tunnels. We actually saw this last year at the AKA's.
I have no idea how this delicate nest wasn't crushed by the snow.
It even had a tunnel entrance.
We won't bore you with step by step pics. The wheels that I put on the aluminum dock made things go a lot faster and easier than years past.
George checking things out.
This was the only dock that had some ice, but still lots of room to park a boat.
I was sure that Jaha was standing beside Jose when I pulled the trigger.???
Some ice on shore in Fennell's Bay.
Mr. Gold finch and Mr. Purple finch.
First fish jump of the season.
The end of another day @ Lil' Tomiko.
Ice road sloooowly breaking up.
First loons.
YouTube first loons.
YouTube, ice road.
Yesterday morning.
Still some ice and snow on the dark side.
I finally finished a multi Sudoku. Usually I don't realize that I made a mistake until 9 moves later. Then it's too messy to fix it.
Yesterday, I checked out the road to Rich's. Still lots of snow and water on our trail.
Tons of trout lilies.
Entering the church.
Looking back.
That big widow maker is still hanging in there.
Defying gravity.
It'll be a mess when it falls. The two firs in the middle will come down, too.
No jokes today, I'll make it up to you later.
