As some of you know, Jon had a serious ATV accident the 5th of September. Luckily he was wearing his helmet, or things could have been much worse. He is recovering nicely in Sudbury. Jon, Paul and I were on the Weyerhaeuser Road when Jon hit a boulder at the edge of the road and went over the handle bars and landed in the middle of the road. Luckily Paul had his cell phone and we were able to call 911 and get help quickly. Jon was transported by helicopter to North Bay and then on to Sudbury where he is undergoing rehab for a leg that's not working quite right. He does have a couple of broken ribs, but everything else seems OK.

Jon's ride, no flight pay this time.

Take off.

So, not to get too preachy, always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, wear your helmet. Tell someone where you are going and when you will be back. Take a cell phone. Grasshopper and I finally joined the 21'st century and got a cell phone this week, for emergency use.

That morning was also our first light frost.

So, you think that you get a nice little dock bass ...

When Big Luke gets not one ...

But two bigger ones.

And then he goes home and gets a couple of nice bucket mouths.

Here are a couple of pics taken by my little brother, Tim-Bob, on the Mackenzie River.

Saturday, the 7th we saw our first flock of geese going south.

I managed to get a couple of nice weather pics, even though we have had a ton of rain lately, which I blame on Jose. See, she went and got a new pump to water her gardens, and it has hardly stopped raining since.

An eagle.

Heavy frost this morning, temp -0.1c.

Brown shingles?

Fog.

Sun rising thru the fog.

These next bunch of pics were taken by Dale W. in Fennel's Bay. The first pic was taken back in 2009 of an adult Bald eagle carrying a fish.

The next bunch were taken this August of an immature Bald eagle eating a fish right on her beach.

Proud parent watching from the other side of the bay.

This guy showed up for a fuzzy photo op.

And then came back the next day and landed on her railing. Can you see me now? We think it is an immature Broad-winged hawk.

Baby Loon.

Today's truism.

Get it?
