We have been busy, sometimes you just have to stop and smell a trillium. Except that this one has small spiders on it.

Some one came up our drive way and got stuck a few times and made a big mess.

Finally, a bird that is named properly. A black and white warbler. You will have to blow up the picture to see it. I call it the zebra bird.

On Sunday we went to Indian lake to hook up a water system and put in the dock. The wind picked up, so we had to stop.

We did go back yesterday and got everything done, but forgot the "after" shots.

Your sunset pic.

Blooms.

Fiddleheads.

The birch buds are opening.

I you look close you can see green leaves starting across the lake.

Oh yeah, the black flies are back, just in time for the long weekend and the opening of pickerel season. Your welcome.

Happy Birthday Sis!

Remember the good old days when parents let their children settle their differences with sharp weapons?

Some lake shots, sans snow. Say that fast 3 times.

I think that there is a hole in the lake. It had dropped from very high to summer normal in 4 days. The river is still running across the Notman road and the culvert is still full.

Compare this shot to the last post.

The dock looks air borne.

Less than a foot of water under the back of the boat. I may have to move the dock out from shore or add on to it$$$.

Sunday morning I was trying to sleep in when Grasshopper wakes me saying "The ice is moving! The ice is moving!", and indeed it was. If you look closely you can make out the tree line road heading from the dock to the Sullivan's. Normally it is 100 feet off to the left and goes to Bedrock.

The ice was rolling up the ramp.

The tiny bergy bits were still 2 to 3 inches thick.

We had to shovel the ice off the ramp to save the motor.

The ice bent back the dock legs and bent the steel cross pieces like "butta".

The dock and boat went in among the ice cubes.

We left the trailer in in case the boat sank.

We still had to keep an eye out for bigger bergy bits which were still 6 to 8 inches thick. I took Grasshopper across to Bedrock and she went to town to vote and get some groceries. Later on the ice left and I took a tour around the lake and determined that we were ice free at last.

This morning the boat was still floating. There was a little dribble, but, as I understand it, that is to be expected when you get to a certain age. So the trailer was pulled out.

Then Mr. and Mrs. Tunes gave us a float past.

The water level has dropped a lot. There is still water on the Notman road at the river, but slowing down.

Hey Rob C. I lost your phone number. Call before you come up.
