It's been a bit hectic around here lately. People coming, going, medical emergencies, etc, but I'll try and catch you up a little bit.
Way back on the 18th we went to Tomiko restaurant with the AKA Smiths. We stopped off to do a little smallie fishing. We won't give out the name of the lake 'cause lately some guys from down south have been taking more fish than they really need. Rapists. We released all of our fish.
Sometimes you have to go and get them out.
Next, prodigal son Itchie Richie returned to Lil' Tomiko after years and years of roaming the 4 corners of the earth. It was a whirl wind visit. If you blinked, you missed him.
Luckily I managed to get a pic when he had to shift into reverse.
It looks like Addison and Grayden aren't quite buyn' what Mr. Smith is sellin'.
We met up with Linda, the hippy chick from Woodstock and Howard/Harold/don't call me late for dinner at Jose's.
Last Tuesday Grasshopper hopped on the Tardis and time traveled all the way back to the land that time forgot. HEY! I got a salad, too.
The other day I watched Mrs. and brood walk up the driveway, on the way to the feeder. They normally come thru the bush.
One stopped off to weed one of Grasshopper's gardens.
Mrs. on the look out before they cross the open yard.
The tarp is to protect the tree from pileated wood peckers. Another grouse video on Youtube.
Howard cookin' goulash @ the old McKeen camp.
There was a nice sun set on the way home, but, Richie's road was too over grown, ( Rich, we gotta talk ) to get good pics.
Just a couple of jokes for you today.
Miss Ellia Jayne Ryan Bishop
Yikes! I guess it's been a couple of weeks since our last post. So you better get a six pack and get comfortable 'cause it might be a long one with a super kids visit to report.
It has been so hot that I have been wearing shorts. As you can see my legs rarely see the light of day.
Waiting beside the big rock on our shore for the baby mergansers to come.
There they are, almost grown up.
You can see the aircraft carrier USS Gowanda in the background.
MoreRon and Alice dropped by for a visit.
MoreRon carrying Alice's back pack, maybe?.
I took Jon, AKA, Smith's brother Murray and sister in law Chris, from Alberta, for a tour of the lake.
Today the is national tell a joke day and this pic reminds me of one. Have you heard about the new pirate movie? She be rated ARRRR!
Dawg.
Bristol and dogs.
More dogs.
Lotus's ball.
Lotus.
I think Dawg wants Ryder's bottle.
Dawg loves the water.
Dawg really thinks he's a dog.
Dawg is a real tease, too, nipping at heels and tails.
Linda's naked man. This is as close as we need to be.
This frog has been sunning it's self on the beach in the hottest part of the day.
Then there were 2.
Mom is in the middle.
Last Thursday we went to Kitchener to visit the Bishops. It rained hard a couple of times on the way down and then it really rained after we arrived.
The street became a temporary river.
On Friday Michelle and Kurt went to the "Hip" concert in Toronto and we got Athena, Kaeden and Ellia all to ourselves. Here we are making Italian bread. Athena is "doing the windowpane test" to see if the dough has been kneaded enough.
While the bread rose we learned how to make alligators from clothes pins.
Oh yeah, the Italian bread needs to rise 3 times, so we made rolls in between time.
Bread ready for the oven.
Alligators. L to R, Grasshopper's, mine, Kaeden's, Ellia's, and Athena's.
The bread didn't brown up so much without the egg wash, but still tasted really good.
Saturday we went to kung fu classes. That's my super kid right there.
Athena can walk on her knees.
Stretching.
Learning how to use a choke hold from a defensive position.
Big brother and sister learning the same moves.
And that's how it's done.
Sunday we tackled the overgrown cedar hedge in the back yard.
1/4 done.
1/2 way.
The last one.
Look how wide it was. The clothes line and garden boxes were tight to the hedge. Of course now they have to paint the part of the garage that they couldn't reach.
We found these in the hedge. We suspect that the burnt plastic bat is a present from some bad little boys who used to live next door.
Grasshopper taught Athena how to crochet chains.
Then we did some tie dyeing.
Athena's.
Kman's.
Left over dye went into some socks.
Athena's.
K-Dude's (L) and Ellia's (R).
Grasshopper's (L) and mine on the right.
One of my work tees got some left overs, too.
Veggie kabobs. That's tofu on the left. I even had a piece. It tastes like what ever you marinade it with.
The traditional front step pic.
Lighting sparklers.
We had a ton of fun in Kitchener, but it was nice to be back on our lake.
