So, it was the first full day of spring and we saw a robin and a grackle. Did you think that Winter would go out with a whimper like a rat dog who lost a bootie?
HELL NO!
She just wants us to know that she will be back, so this is so that we won't forget her.
George doesn't mind the snow.
This guy trusted Wiarton Willie.
A dusting of snow to cover up the bare ice.
The dock won't be going in tomorrow.
.
Friday evening we had another birthday dinner at Frasertown for Jose. I poached these pics from Jose's facebook as I didn't take any because my camera was full of water. Long story, I'll tell you sometime over a long, tall, cool Mojito. Short story, alcohol cures everything.
L/R, me, Gord, Barb, Juanita, TT, Razor, Bryan and a shy Grasshopper.
You can see Jose in this pic.
We had a flash freeze after the last rain.
The trails froze "insitu".
You can skate the rest of the lake like an NHL Hockey rink.
The moose have been going up and down the driveway.
They break saplings along the road.
And eat the new growth.
It looks like this moose was walking with Grasshopper.
Glosette raisins, my favourite.
Chewy!

I think that we have a hoary redpoll. This pic taken from inside the cabin and cropped.
This one taken through the screen on the deck. I'm pretty sure that the one in the middle is a hoary. You'll have to blow up the pics to see if I'm right.
We had 1/2 inch of rain last night, although I think that, at times it came down too fast for the weather station to measure.
Our tree line road is still pretty good.
It looks like winter is on the slippery slope to bug season.
The entrance to the Don Fraser Bypass.
Last evening Big Luke, along with sidekicks Lee and Wiener dropped by for happy hour. The big D dog and Fluffy came too.
I must be getting old 'cause I forgot to take pics.

Yesterday was Jose's birthday. Happy birthday my Lady.
She might be the Duchess of Little Tomiko, but she is a princess to us.
So, how do you celebrate Her Ladyship's birthday? Well, everybody meets up at her estate and puts the bib on, of course. Jennifer showed up for a change, Grasshopper, Jose, Barb, Gord, Razor and TT. Bryan was beside me taking a pic. Steve was missing from this pic. Oh, and that's Bess on the lower left and Maggie the anti-rat dogs. Dill Pickle was inside so nobody would walk on her.
We still have a decent amount of our snow left.
The kitchen help at work.
A different angle of the sunset.
We aren't totally mean. This weekend we will all pitch in and put on a spread at Frasertown so Jose can just kick back and relax, for a change.
.
It's been a crazy week weather wise.
The last sun was on Monday, I think.
Since then we have had snow, more snow, real heavy snow, and rain. And snow/rain, and rain/snow, and rain/rain. The temperature has stayed a couple of degrees around zero.
Check out the dive bombing chickadee on the left. Hey super kids, how many birds do you see?
The redpoles have taken over the feeders, only moving for the blue jays.
Grandpa Frank reminds everybody to set their clocks ahead tonight and to change the batteries in all their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
.
The afterglow of flurries.
Somewhere at the end of the orange tow bar is "Camp Full of It's" folding ice shack.
Redpolls in the tree tops.
Mostly just too pretty for words. The bad news is that they are calling for rain Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It was -20 this morning, and rain the day after tomorrow? Maybe it's a typo, hopefully.
