On Saturday we went ice fishing with the Kelly's and Lee. Lee brought up old pal Jim and a new young fella, Kevin, who knows his taupe from his beige.
No fish were caught, but we had fun, and no one lost an eye. Luckily, Grasshopper had made a sea food chowder using Gary's recipe and we all met at Bedrock for supper.
Lee brought his portable ice shack.
Here, Lee gets to drive a real live Ski Doo! Most people are required to wear helmets, unless you are a certified block head.
Oh, oh, a front moving in.
Yesterday morning, a half inch of rain, 6 degrees.
If i liked this kind of winter I would go to No Snowtia, or maybe Chile.
This morning the temperature and snow were falling. Now everything is as it should be.

Happy 4th Birthday
Super Nova!
The sun has risen the past couple of mornings, only to be blocked out by ice fog that crawls across the country side.
Thursday the fog burnt off leaving everything coated in frost
It's been too d****n hot here lately. The lake already has lots of slush and air holes and "they" are calling for +3 degrees and rain on Saturday and Sunday. Boo hooo hooo.
The previous part of this blog was written yesterday, so you get some bonus pics.
Sun set last evening.
Another sunny day!
More frost shot from the roof.
Kita soaking up the UV rays.

HAPPY 15Th Birthday
Kita!
The old boy is doing pretty good for being 15. He sometimes forgets where he is and what he is doing, and he sometimes teeters, but I blame that on pets resembling their owners.
Handsome dog, again resembling his owner.
He still has some get up and go.
And he still runs across the lake to Bedrock, not needing a ride like a rat dog.
Last fall we had a leaner on the driveway.
Yup, that's the driveway. The weight of the snow brought it down and it took some small maples with it.
The final clean up.

Grasshopper bought herself a new ride.
Left side shot. I think that Phaser is set on stunning!
Right side.
Git outta my way shot!
For the first time in living memory,(which isn't long when you have sometimers) we had SUN yesterday which led to some sun set shots. I think that "somebody" has been practicing on her new sled.

The tree line is in to Bedrock, but don't let that fool you. Even though there is between 6 and 10 inches of ice between here and there; the ice is thin close to shore and near swamps. Kita and I went for a walk on snow shoes this afternoon through the blind narrows near the Szymanski's. I broke through in my snow shoes up to my knees and Kita went for a short swim. Be patient and take your ice picks.
Another sun set through a snow flurry.
We have been going for a walk after supper along the lake and up the trail around our property.
Obstacle course, who needs a gym membership?
One night we flushed a grouse from his bed. This is called a natural EKG.
It didn't go very far and we left him to find a new bed.
Here we are back home.

Happy Guy Fawkes Day!
No, wait, wrong Holiday.
Happy new year from Little Tomiko!
Who knows what dangers lurk in the dark? Be afraid, very afraid.
Even the leprechauns were dancing.
Special thanks to Dennis the master pyrotechnical wizard. He is also available to clear mine fields or any other dangerous jobs that you wouldn't want to do yourself.
