Snow!! We got a few inches of snow over night. I had to shovel out the boat.

The beavers flying back and forth like they just realized that winter is here and they are not ready. There were also fish jumping clear out of the water???? Water too cold?

Ice starting to form near the shore. It has to hold off until Saturday when I will have my girls tucked in for the winter.

At times this morning there was this eerie, what do you call it? A brightness not heard of since the days of yore and whispered about by Pagans and Wickens.

A snow angel for Grasshopper.

Pet Lamb and Captain Vic; Conversation can be rather limited when your dog is deaf, and cats just don't care. Maybe the fly is a BUG planted some one to keep an eye on me. The fly is still there.

Like Billy Talent says "I'm rusted from the rain" 'nuff said, pass the WD40. Down right depressing and SADning. A little snow yesterday to warm the cockles, but then it RAINED !

Margaret, six more sleeps.

Just a quick one to let you that I'm still alive and kicking..

Some sun sets from whenever we had sun last????

It's good to know that bush engineers some times gets it wrong too with leaners and widow makers.

This house fly has been on the outside of this window for a couple of weeks now. It is still alive as it rotates and has moved about two inches this week.

Just about in the hurry-up-and-wait mode in regards to the boat and dock. Snow machines are all ready to go. The weather is still warm, although they are calling for more seasonal temps this weekend and maybe some snow. I hope it holds off until my two favorite girls come back at Little Tomiko, both due in the end of next week. In the meanwhile, Mr. Slate keeps me busy, and feeds me supper too.

Tuesday morning we had a cloudless sun rise. Then, around 9 o'clock, a fog bank moved in from Mayor Vic's evil empire, slowly swallowing Little Tomiko.

The fog brought a flock of ducks, who don't usually land here. When the fog lifted, the ducks were gone.

Cathy's Mom passed away yesterday afternoon.

The matriarch of the Campbell Clan,
Shirley McDonald Campbell better known as Nanny C.
was 81 years old. She leaves behind daughters Cathy,
Janet, Anne, Liz, and Barb. 12 grandchildren and 4
great-grandchildren. And many, many friends.
She was a nice lady and I am glad to have known her.

Happy birthday Mike.

Sun rise yesterday morning.

Sun set last evening.

So, Lee came up this weekend, again, it's starting to get old. This time he brought up different slave labour, Brad and Murray, better known as Bubbles and Squeak. Here, they're finishing the side deck. That's Murray doing doing double duty of QA and rail support. That's Lee begging for forgiveness and Brad is looking for a tape measure

New side door to the basement.

Look Ma! No cribbing!

As some of you know, Grasshopper has gone to Nova Scotia to spend some time with her Mom. She has posted a couple of new blogs and promises to keep us updated from the Least Coast.

Margaret, no, I haven't started smoking yet. You are assuming that I'm the one with out will power?
Happy 2nd Birthday

Athena!

The past three days have been the nicest since April. There might have been the odd nice day now and then, but they had bugs buzzing all around. This was yesterday morning's sun rise.

What do you do when you hire a contractor to raise your cottage and then leaves you hanging? Well, you get Wiener and Frank to do your dirty work for you.

Nice cabin, no stairs.

While Wiener and I worked, Lee played in the mud with his toy. It took him one afternoon and half a morning to get back to where he started.

Oh, the devastation! I think Vicky has some gardening work to do.

New stairs up to this deck.

New beam for a deck on this side.

Ho Ho Ho, Jane doesn't have just one tree up already,

But two.

The Notman road was flooded the last time I went to town at the little gravel pit before the Davis road.

OK, write this down so that your grand kids and great grand kids will know. On the First of November 2009 it did NOT rain at Little Tomiko!

However, it did rain on the second of November. A lot. Today we woke up to a sun rise, but during the day it has rained, snowed, and sleeted, with the odd bit of sun.
