We hope that everybody had a great Christmas. Here are some pics from the past week.

On Christmas morning there was a weird cloud showing over the trees from the Tomiko Pond side of the lake.

The lake was frozen good enough that we took the snow machines across the lake and went to town to see the Brown superkids.

We had Christmas dinner with Joseph's in laws, the Slotes. They are a super family that, every year, invite us to dinner and to see the super kids.

It is impossible to get seven kids to sit and look at the camera at the same time. That's why you only see six.

We had freezing rain on boxing day making for some interesting pictures.

Frozen bunny tracks on the lake.

The freezing rain made a mess of the lake.

A mouse size animal made drunken tracks up and down the lake.

Ice fog on the 27th.

The afternoon of the 27th we again went to the Slotes and met up with all the superkids.

Calliope and Kaeden work on a puzzle.

Ellia at work.

Nova too.

And Athena gets a match.

Kaeden and Ellia work on the moon.

Dress up time, guess who?

On the 28th, my 17th birthday, I got a real good Northern Ontario flurry for a present.

Me, Grasshopper, Kita and even George hopes that all of you have an awesome 2010.

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family.and you too Razor!

We put up the tree yesterday.

We walked across the lake yesterday. There was a frost in the birch trees making it very Burl Ives looking.

Sun rise sun dog from a couple of days ago.

An afternoon sun dog.

Around 9 o'clock last night we had visitors drop by for a few minutes. They went home by the shortest, whiskey induced route. Here's the evidence that the lake is not quite up to sober transportation standards yet.

What a beautiful morning, -22c

Whiskey Jack all puffed up.

And Grasshopper heads off to town.

Sleigh in tow.

We got 30 Cm's of snow the day after we took the old goat to Bedrock.

First sled ride last weekend. Moose tracks on the driveway.

The sun shining through a snow flurry.

Sun sets.

If you come to visit by sled, DO NOT come up the ramp that you did last year or you will have a 6oHP Evinrude between your high beams.

Look off to the right about 30 yards and you will see a new trail.

We have had a few sub -20c nights and have been making good ice on the lake. The lake should be open any day now. I kind of miss that guy in the "Buoy O Buoy" jacket and with a 2X4 strapped across his butt to test the ice.

The skies cleared Friday evening while waiting for Grasshopper to come home.

We have had a busy past couple of days. Sunday afternoon we decided to take the boat out. Good thing because by Monday morning the lake had completely frozen over. The ice was almost 2 inches thick and I could walk on it. We had to chop the ice to get the dock out.

Boat and dock on shore.

Grasshopper will have more/better pics on her blog soon.

I went to town yesterday. A view of the Little Tomiko River, looking down stream from the Notman road.

This morning's pics.

Grasshopper is coming home at midnight tonight. So, here's the deal, if your generator won't generate, your inverter won't invert, your pump won't pump, if your cabin needs raising, or lowering, ... OK write this down, I want you to call 911-SOME-ONE-ELSE, 'cause I plan on gettin' busy for the next day or ten. Yes Kaeden and Ellia, there might be some smooching going on here, too.

Snow!! We got a few inches of snow over night. I had to shovel out the boat.

The beavers flying back and forth like they just realized that winter is here and they are not ready. There were also fish jumping clear out of the water???? Water too cold?

Ice starting to form near the shore. It has to hold off until Saturday when I will have my girls tucked in for the winter.

At times this morning there was this eerie, what do you call it? A brightness not heard of since the days of yore and whispered about by Pagans and Wickens.

A snow angel for Grasshopper.

Pet Lamb and Captain Vic; Conversation can be rather limited when your dog is deaf, and cats just don't care. Maybe the fly is a BUG planted some one to keep an eye on me. The fly is still there.
