Tuesday we had another January thaw. Yesterday morning we woke up to +5c and had lost most of our snow. The wind picked up tp mach 10 and the temp dropped to -18c.
The tallest tree did not survive the wind.
The wind blew away what was left of the snow.

The past couple of days have been awesome solar days. The batteries are very happy. The temp dropped to -33.9 Canadian over night.
Remember the adage about building a garage at least twice the size that you think you need?
I gave Razor a hand fixing the WHOA part of the grader. Here he is all set to plow the Sand Dam road.
As you might have seen by C's comment on the last post, I tried to turn the Yammie into a Canadian Navy submarine, and much like the Navy's subs, it didn't float. I was looking for Kita's tracks around a swamp and fell through thin ice. The back end of the sled sank about three feet. I managed to use a come-a-long and winch it onto some little bushes. Razor came along after the hard work was done. He said that he thought he could drive it out, so I told him to go for it. He drove that thing like a SeaDoo across forty to fifty feet of open water and thin ice 'till he got it on solid ice. Thanks Razor, that was definitely a "Crown Royal" moment.

I found Kita's birth certificate and found his birthday is the 15th of January. I had thought that it was in December. So, how did Kita celebrate? He went on another one of his thirty hour tears.
Here he is recuperating.
Saturday was a really nice day. Grasshopper went on a sled ride with the Tomiko Angels. Someday she might even post some pics.
I didn't go on the ride as I was still getting over my cold. Thanks to those that sent get well notes. And to the others who pointed out where to find sympathy in the dictionary, HA, HA, that's an old one.

This weather sucks! This is the first day that we have been able to see the second tree on the tree line to Bed Rock.
Snowmobile trail???
It was a record breaking +8 in North Bay yesterday. Last evening we saw a thunder and lightening storm pass south of the city, lighting up the fog. Well, I still have a bit of that cold that I caught in the city last week, so it's back to the couch for me.
