The giant tomatoes are ripening, finally. Some of them look mutated.

This shot looks like freeze up.

A nice afternoon pic.

Yesterday morning I noticed this little guy in the back yard. It seemed like it was cold so I put him/her up out of Kita's reach and in the sun. The bird kept flying down and I kept putting it back up until it just died. I think that it was some kind of warbler, but I'll defer proper ID to the expert, Joseph.

  1. What a cute bird - wonder why it died? George wasn't out was he???

  2. It is a Blue-headed Vireo, previously known as the Solitary Vireo (and before that known as the Blue-headed Vireo). Field guides seem divided on the name.

  3. I forgot to mention that the white 'spectacles' of this bird is the diagnostic trait - it looks like it is wearing a pair of white goggles.
